NY/NJ Chapter Helps Victims of Hurricane Sandy
Chapter Makes Generous Donation to the American Red Cross
Superstorm Sandy hit the New York and New Jersey areas very
hard. Despite strong efforts to prepare for the storm, no
one could have adequately prepared for the disastrous
effects suffered by thousands of area residents. The
pervasive loss of power was an enormous inconvenience to
virtually everyone. Life for many, however, will never be
the same once power was restored. Many of those living in
the shore areas lost their homes, their possessions and in
some cases their lives and the lives of family members.
Our Chapter made a conscious effort to support those
affected by Sandy through a donation to the Jersey Shore
Chapter of the American Red Cross. The donation will help
the American Red Cross to provide food, shelter as well as a
warm, dry place to stay for evacuees across the state. It
will also help the Red Cross to more adequately prepare for
future storms.
Our Chapter received a warm
Letter of Appreciation from the American Red Cross in
response to the Chapters' donation.
