NY/NJ Chapter Holds 2014 Installation Dinner-Dance
New Slate of Officers to Continue Chapter’s Tradition of Excellence
The NY/NJ Chapter recently installed the new slate of Officers for the 2014-15 fiscal year
at the Chapter’s Annual Installation-Dinner Dance. The event was held at the Brownstone in
Paterson, NJ on Friday, May 30, 2014. In addition to the formal installation ceremony,
Members and guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail hour followed by a sumptuous full-course dinner.
The event was capped off with an endless night of dancing and fabulous live musical entertainment
provided by The Infernos.
Incumbent Chapter
President Maureen Kalena began the formal program by welcoming the Members, guests,
dignitaries and a bevy of Past Chapter Presidents who were on hand to witness the
passing of the Chapter’s leadership torch. As Members stood at attention following
the traditional Pledge of Allegiance, Chapter Member Chris Schroller provided a
solemn invocation offering thanks for the Chapter’s past and continued future success.
Daniel Crowley, Director at Roselle Savings Bank and lifetime Chapter supporter,
then offered a celebratory toast to the slate of Officers about
to be installed for the upcoming year.

Maureen introduced Ferdinand Viaud, National Society Director
at Large and Past Chapter President, who proceeded to install the Chapter’s
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the upcoming year.
Maureen then returned to the podium to present her final remarks to the
Membership as Chapter President. She thanked the Membership and the Chapter
Officers for their support during her administration. Maureen noted the
accomplishments that the Chapter has made over the past year and her
confidence that the new leadership will continue the Chapter’s tradition
of success. Maureen cited the particular accomplishments of several Chapter
Members, including the author, and thanked each for their contributions to the Chapter.
Andriette Mathews was then installed as Chapter President by Dick Yingst.
Andriette was also presented with the traditional gavel and Chapter President’s
Pin. The entire slate of Officers received warm applause from all those in attendance.
Andriette then offered her initial address to the Membership as Chapter President. She thanked all of the sponsors
of the event and noted that the evening would not have been possible without their generous contributions. Andriette
stressed the importance of driving the Chapter’s future direction through Member involvement. She noted that committees
will be formed to recommend, review and formulate an action plan with the direction of the Officers and the Membership.
Andriette also stated that mentoring is one key element that brings in new ideas and helps to promote Membership growth.
She noted how the Chapter’s wide talent base provides the opportunity to expand our Membership by introducing existing
personnel at Member institutions to the Chapter.
