Mission Statement

To enhance the professional development of financial personnel within financial institutions.

History

The Financial Managers Society was formed in 1948 when a group of Controllers from the Chicago area banded together and formed the Society of Savings and Loan Controllers.

The New York/New Jersey Chapter of the Financial Managers Society was formed shortly thereafter. Theodore Theban of Bankers Federal Savings and Loan served as the first President of the NY/NJ Chapter in 1949.

Disclosures to Third Parties

On occasion, FMS may provide limited data to third parties that offer products and services. These limited data include names, job titles, companies and preferred mailing address, but do not include phone numbers, fax numbers or e-mail addresses. Users may request FMS to refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the membership application form, or any other form on which they are providing information; an opt-out box will appear on each form on which a user provides information. Alternatively, users may contact FMS to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.

Credit Card Account Information

FMS does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, FMS submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

Web Privacy

The FMS Web site contains links to other web sites. FMS has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.

If a member suspects FMS has handled its personal information in a manner that does not comply with this privacy statement, please contact us.
